The filter element of air filters is made of special Japanese paper, which is based on high-quality cellulose fibers impregnated with special resins (phenolic polymer). By the way, the same paper is used for the production of MAHLE and KNECHT filters.
The paper is folded using a special technology to get the maximum filtration area, and it also has an electrostatic charge that attracts dust. The size of the filtered particles is on average 1 micron, while the standard of most automakers is 1-2 microns. After the filter paper is preheated on the conveyor, it is pleated and embossed. And in order to make the paper mechanically stable and elastic, as well as resistant to chemical and thermal influences, it is subjected to special impregnation.
All of the above sequence of actions in the production of air filters allows you to get highly resistant pleats at the outlet, preventing the danger of impermeable areas even with high external loads on the filter and ensures unhindered air passage.
